Senior Living Accounting Intern – Spring or Fall 2027 | RKL LLP

The Tone:
This is an internship at RKL LLP, a professional services firm whose Senior Living Services Consulting Group provides expert support within the healthcare industry. The group offers operational, financial, clinical, third-party billing, reimbursement, and compliance services, positioning clients for sustainable success. This role is crucial as the intern will apply accounting and financial skills, gaining industry insights to help senior living providers meet compliance obligations and identify opportunities for improvement by analyzing data from various national, publicly available sources.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Assist with preparing cost reports required for Medicare and Medicaid compliance.
• Analyze: Assist with analyzing various financial transactions to support client engagements.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for efficiencies within client operations.
• Network: Network with peers and team members at all levels to build professional relationships.
• Participate: Participate in continuous learning and leadership development workshops to enhance professional skills and knowledge.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, seeking an entry-level career in professional services.
• Experience: A minimum GPA of 3.0. A clear desire to pursue the CPA designation and build a career in professional services or public accounting.
• Skills: Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. The capacity to work autonomously under pressure of tight deadlines and multiple priorities. Strong technical skills combined with the ability to problem-solve in a professional environment.
