Senior Litigation Docket Clerk | Arnold & Porter

The Tone:
This is a full-time, nonexempt role at Arnold & Porter, located in New York, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. Arnold & Porter is a 2,463-person organization providing legal services to clients globally. This role provides critical docketing, e-filing, and administrative support, ensuring the Managing Attorney’s Office operates efficiently and litigation matters are accurately tracked. • Team: Managing Attorney’s Office; reports to Docketing Coordinators and supports Managing Attorney, Managing Clerk, and Assistant Managing Clerk.
• Mission: To provide critical docketing, e-filing, and administrative support to ensure accurate litigation records and efficient office operations.
• Tech Stack: PACER/CM/ECF, Milana, eDockets, CompuLaw, MA3000, Microsoft Office, Windows-based systems, databases, data management tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Docket Management: Maintain and update the firm’s docketing system by accurately recording litigation filings and calculating deadlines under supervision.
• E-Filing Support: Provide comprehensive e-filing assistance utilizing PACER/CM/ECF and various other federal and agency electronic filing systems.
• Administrative Support: Deliver essential administrative support to the Assistant Managing Clerk and the broader Managing Attorney’s Office.
• Document Preparation: Prepare, proofread, and distribute departmental communications, critical reports, and other necessary documents.
• Data & File Management: Create and maintain department-wide files, databases, and libraries, performing data entry and ensuring accuracy in collaboration with firm personnel.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior-level professional with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, specializing in litigation support within a legal environment.
• Experience: Minimum of three years of litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal setting. Proven experience with electronic filing systems, specifically Federal CM/ECF.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and project management abilities, strong written and oral communication skills, and a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Bonus: Experience with docketing/calendaring systems such as Milana, eDockets, CompuLaw, or MA3000. Experience with California court electronic filing systems.
