FP&A Analyst | Fluidstack
The Tone:
This is an FP&A Analyst role at Fluidstack, a company committed to expanding human freedom by rapidly deploying civilization-scale compute infrastructure for AI. This position is central to establishing the company’s entire FP&A function from the ground up, crucial for managing the rapid growth and operational complexity of an AI infrastructure company. The role involves transforming gigawatt-scale operational data into clear financial narratives that inform board and investor decisions, playing a key part in guiding strategic capital allocation.

• Mission: Establish the foundational FP&A processes and provide actionable financial insights to support rapid growth and strategic capital allocation for AI compute infrastructure.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Planning: Develop and continuously update comprehensive annual operating plans and quarterly forecast models, integrating diverse inputs from Engineering, Operations, and Sales to provide a unified financial outlook for leadership decision-making.
• Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth monthly variance analysis and construct the P&L bridge, meticulously identifying and explaining discrepancies between actual financial performance and planned figures before they impact leadership reviews.
• Capital Allocation: Construct robust financial models and detailed scenario analyses, collaborating with the FP&A leadership team to rigorously evaluate and stress-test critical capital allocation and growth investment strategies.
• Performance Tracking: Oversee and refine key performance indicator (KPI) frameworks and financial performance dashboards, ensuring real-time business health visibility by accurately pulling and reconciling data from NetSuite and other financial systems.
• Investor Reporting: Craft high-quality board and investor reporting materials, translating intricate operational data into compelling and clear financial narratives that support strategic communication.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is for an individual contributor possessing strong financial acumen, capable of clearly presenting complex numerical information and its implications to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience: Candidates must demonstrate proven experience in building and confidently articulating the assumptions and methodology behind three-statement financial model forecasts.
• Skills: High proficiency and speed in using Excel or Google Sheets are essential for rapid model development, updates, and analysis, particularly when working under tight, same-day deadlines.
• Bonus: Relevant experience within the data center, infrastructure, AI/ML, or other capital-intensive sectors, or familiarity with the Pigment platform, would be a distinct advantage.
