Job Description:
This position analyzes and projects financial effects associated with management decisions and changes in the business environment for the Natural Gas Distribution business unit. The role requires collaboration with district operations and senior management to develop and monitor financial plans, prepare financial forecasts and models, and conduct financial analyses.
Essential Functions:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for district operations, providing financial guidance and support.
• Develop and monitor financial plans, providing insightful budget information and ad hoc reports.
• Ensure accuracy of financial reports to provide actionable management information.
• Prepare financial forecasts and develop financial models for various purposes, including operating income, capital, margin analysis, resource allocation, and regulatory filings.
• Conduct financial analysis for review, including variance analysis, rate of return calculations, and efficiency studies.
• Utilize software tools to perform analyses, prepare reports, and extract information from databases.
• Participate on or lead cross-functional teams to provide financial expertise.
• Perform all work with effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Minimum of five years of experience in accounting, finance, gas or electric operations, or engineering.
