Role Overview

The Senior Field Service Technician (FST) is a field-based, independent position responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of chemical dispensing equipment and other related equipment used in commercial foodservice or laundry operations. The primary objective is to deliver exceptional service, fostering customer retention and superior customer satisfaction, rather than focusing on sales.

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn new skills through provided training, and a foundational understanding in electronics, plumbing, maintenance, or mechanical systems. Key qualifications include:

• Ability to troubleshoot with root cause analysis.
• Moderate working knowledge of appropriate tools, data, implements, and service needs.
• Proficiency in laptop and cell phone technology, including but not limited to Salesforce, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Occasional overnight travel is required.
• Candidate must live in the specified city (Jackson).

Essential Job Functions

This role requires physical capability and flexibility in scheduling:

• Work Schedule: A standard 5-day work week / 8 hours per day, but may include 12-hour shifts, occasional weekends, and night shifts.
• Physical Demands:
  • Lift, lower, and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Climb a vertical ladder (ability to go up and down).
  • Climb up and down stairs.
  • Stand, sit, and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Twist, bend at the knees, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and reach for equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Work on various surfaces, including concrete and asphalt (uneven surfaces).
• Technical & Environmental:
  • Operate a computer keyboard to input and access data, and use a phone.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold), generally in warehouse conditions with wide variances in temperature, dust, and dirt.
  • Ability to discern and respond to various visual and audible alarms and signals for equipment startup, evacuation, and fires.
• Driving & Travel:
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, spending approximately 30% of the day traveling safely between accounts in city, rural, and expressway conditions.
• Customer Interaction:
  • Must be eligible to be onsite at customer locations to conduct business, service, and maintenance, in compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.

Other Requirements

• On-call Coverage: May include occasional weekends, holidays, and night shifts.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay for this role is $21.74 per hour.
