Manager, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) | Ford Motor Company

The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Ford Motor Company, located in Dearborn, requiring onsite presence four or more days per week. Ford builds vehicles and makes history, working to transform the future for customers, communities, and families. This role helps Ford anticipate future uncertainties, identify and mitigate top risks, and build a more resilient, anticipatory organization. You’ll partner directly with executive leadership and the Board of Directors, turning insight into action that protects and creates value across the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Risk Framework Advancement: Stay ahead of the curve by engaging with industry groups, forums, and leading practices in risk frameworks, governance, and reporting, then bring those ideas back to Ford.
• Enterprise Risk Identification: Identify and prioritize Ford’s top enterprise risks, ensuring risk owners develop clear, actionable mitigation plans that leadership can act on.
• Mitigation Strategy Development: Partner with risk owners and senior leaders across the business to build and strengthen risk mitigation plans, translating deep domain expertise into practical, cross-functional solutions.
• Executive & Board Reporting: Prepare and deliver risk reporting and insights for executive leadership and the Board of Directors, helping shape how Ford’s most critical decisions get made.
• Risk Culture Embedding: Help embed a culture of risk mitigation across the enterprise — coaching, training, and influencing teams so that thinking about risk becomes second nature, not an afterthought.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience, demonstrating strong analytical, structured problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. Proven record of establishing regular and collaborative engagement across the organization, and experience in conflict resolution with differing points of view, including with senior members.
• Skills: Analytical, Structured Problem-Solving, Strategic Thinking, Collaborative Engagement, Conflict Resolution, Executive Presence.
• Bonus: Risk management experience in a complex institution and/or highly matrixed environment, Master’s degree, concentration in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, professional Risk Management certifications, and experience utilizing a GRC tool for ERM.
