Manager, Strategy & Transformation (Finance Transformation) | MorganFranklin Consulting
The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at MorganFranklin Consulting, offering the flexibility of client site visits approximately 1-3 days per week. The company specializes in guiding clients through significant business events like M&A, carve-outs, IPOs, system implementations, and major organizational changes. They help organizations define and execute transformation initiatives across a broad spectrum of financial operations, including operational accounting, FP&A, and financial technology enablement. This role is crucial for supporting complex enterprise clients within the Financial Services vertical, providing expertise to solve intricate challenges and deliver tangible, outcome-driven solutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Engagement & Vertical Expertise: Work directly within the Financial Services vertical, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients including brokerage, insurance, FinTech, large technology, and other complex Fortune 500 enterprises, guiding them through major business and finance transformations.
• Program Management & Execution: Support and manage large-scale programs and multi-workstream initiatives, diligently ensuring strategic alignment, timely execution, and successful delivery of transformation projects across client organizations.
• Strategic Partnership & Communication: Collaborate extensively with senior team members and client leadership to execute strategic initiatives, contribute to significant transformation projects, and develop clear leadership communications and executive-ready recommendations.
• Facilitation & Assessment: Lead crucial client workshops, conduct comprehensive current-state assessments, facilitate detailed requirements-gathering sessions, and present executive-level findings and recommendations, leveraging previous client-facing experience.
• Problem Solving & Delivery: Apply a robust blend of Finance & Accounting, operational, project management, product management, and analytical problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges, often with limited formal documentation, and consistently deliver tangible, impactful outcomes for clients.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Professional at the Manager level, holding a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline, with a foundational understanding of business and finance transformation.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting, finance, or accounting roles, including direct involvement with complex mergers and acquisitions, integration projects, and/or significant system implementations such as ERP tools (SAP, Oracle). Demonstrate experience working directly with Finance & Accounting teams and managing multiple stakeholders across Lines of Business, Product, and Technology.
• Skills: Exhibit strong communication skills, particularly in leadership communication, combined with robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Proven ability to assess current states, formulate future state recommendations, write precise business requirements, and effectively escalate issues through to resolution, while producing deliverables independently without reliance on standardized templates.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include prior client-facing work in professional services, project management experience, knowledge of operational accounting, SOX/controls, FP&A, SEC or regulatory reporting, integration or M&A expertise, familiarity with financial services regulations and risk management, or advanced degrees (MBA, MSA) or certifications (CPA or equivalent).
