• Team: Engineering team, collaborating with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders. Mentors junior engineers.
• Mission: Own critical services and features from conception to deployment, designing and developing scalable, high-performance backend systems that power cutting-edge applications.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design & Develop: Architect, design, develop, test, and deploy highly scalable, reliable, and secure backend services and APIs.
• Optimize Systems: Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, ensuring the robustness and responsiveness of applications.
• Manage Databases: Work with various database technologies to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Mentor Engineers: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate Cross-functionally: Work with product management, frontend engineers, and QA teams to define requirements, plan sprints, and deliver integrated solutions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior career level, requiring strong foundational backend development knowledge.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development; expert proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (Python, Java, Go, Node.js, Ruby) and associated frameworks; experience designing and building highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems.
• Skills: Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles, gRPC, or GraphQL; solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis); proficient in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for backend services; strong working knowledge of Git; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong verbal and written communication.
• Bonus: Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS); experience with Docker and Kubernetes; familiarity with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS); experience with profiling and optimizing backend services for performance; understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies; proven track record of mentoring junior engineers or leading technical projects.
