Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backend Engineer to join our core platform team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the robust backend services that power our flagship products. You will work on high-volume, low-latency systems, ensuring high availability and performance. This position requires a strong command of modern backend technologies, architectural patterns, and a passion for building elegant, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of highly scalable and reliable backend services and APIs using Go (primary) and Python.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver innovative features.
• Architect and build new microservices, ensuring they are well-tested, resilient, and observable.
• Optimize existing services for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users.
• Drive technical discussions and decisions, influencing the backend architecture and technology roadmap.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) with a proven track record of building production-grade services.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and RESTful API design.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure (AWS preferred).
• Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with message queues and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Familiarity with gRPC and Protocol Buffers.
• Prior experience in a FinTech or B2B SaaS environment.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong technical blog/portfolio.
• Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
