What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee: Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare: Prepare accurate financial statements and reports, ensuring full compliance with GAAP standards.
• Analyze: Perform variance analysis and support multi-currency/global consolidation functions.
• Support: Manage operational accounting tasks, including AR/AP overflow and reconciliations, as needed during business transitions.
• Drive: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within finance operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required. This role is designed for a seasoned accounting professional seeking a senior-level position.
• Experience: Candidates must possess 5 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 to 5 years specifically performed in a Senior Accountant capacity. A stable job history is strongly preferred, indicating consistent growth and commitment within previous roles.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and comprehensive general ledger management is essential. Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to utilize Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFs, are critical for success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a self-motivated approach, a deadline-driven mindset, exceptional organizational abilities, and adaptability to evolving priorities.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include previous experience within an international or multi-currency corporate environment, demonstrating familiarity with complex global financial structures. Proficiency with major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle or JD Edwards, or similar platforms, is highly valued. Public accounting experience or progress towards an advanced degree, such as a Master’s in Accounting, would also be a significant advantage.
