Job Description

This is for a part-time, overnight Security Officer position at a Department of Defense-cleared facility located in Niskayuna, NY.

Compensation & Perks:
$30/hour

Role Overview:
As a Security Officer – Cleared (Clearance Required – Unarmed), you will be entrusted with sensitive information and given the crucial responsibility to protect classified information and personnel. The role involves receiving specialized training in site-specific security protocols related to your clearance level, fostering skill development and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality security services with professionalism, safeguarding personnel, property, and information.
• Conduct patrols within and around the facility, utilizing foot, bicycle, or vehicle, to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive/classified information.
Greet guests and employees and escort visitors and contractors to secure entry and exit points.
• Adhere strictly to site-specific performance manuals and post orders.
• Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances through both written and oral communication to clients and/or other security personnel.
Respond to and assess security or emergency alarms.
• Act as a first responder in emergency situations.

Required Qualifications (Must Have):
Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
Education/Experience: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, OR have 5 years of verifiable experience.
Clearance: Must possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) position-appropriate level security clearance. (National security eligibility determinations consider a person’s stability, trustworthiness, reliability, discretion, character, honesty, and judgment).
Experience (one or more of the following):
• Minimum of three (3) years of security experience on a Department of Defense-cleared site.
Prior military experience.
Skills:
• Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Intermediate computer skills for operating innovative, wireless technology at client-specific sites.
Licensing: Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
• Prior law enforcement or armed security experience.
• An Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field.
