Job Description: Security and Privacy Internship (Summer 2025)
The Security and Privacy team at TikTok USDS aims to make TikTok the most trusted social and entertainment platform by protecting the business, its employees, users, and complying with government regulations. This internship offers students hands-on experience and industry exposure. The program runs for 12 weeks, beginning in May/June 2025, with several start dates available.
Responsibilities (depending on the team):
• Developing threat intelligence libraries and conducting technical research.
• Building risk mediation plans.
• Supporting compliance programs and awareness campaigns.
• Participating in program management (planning, execution, and monitoring of security programs and initiatives).
Qualifications:
• Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity Policy & Compliance, Risk Management, Information Systems, or a related field; ability to commit to a 12-week internship during Summer 2025; basic understanding of cybersecurity risks, principles, and concepts.
• Preferred Qualifications: Graduation in December 2025 or later, with the intention to return to studies after the internship; eagerness to learn and adapt; self-motivation; strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
Additional Notes:
• This is a general hire position, meaning applications will be considered for multiple openings across various departments within USDS (Security Office PMO, Financial Crimes Compliance, Risk and Compliance, Cyber Defense Engineering, Threat Detection and Response).
• The internship involves a hybrid work schedule requiring 3 days per week in the office (or as directed by the manager/department).
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• The hourly rate range for this position in Washington, DC is $27-$27. Benefits include health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, 10 paid holidays, and paid sick time.
