Job Description: Security Advocacy and Culture Intern (Summer 2025)

The Security Advocacy and Culture team at TikTok champions security by building trust, communicating security practices, and empowering users internally and externally. This team fosters transparency, trust, and collaboration to create a resilient security posture. A key responsibility is educating employees about cybersecurity risks, best practices, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain project plans and roadmaps aligned with organizational priorities; define delivery methodologies and drive project execution.
• Manage collaboration tools, content inventories, and reporting dashboards to ensure accurate and timely project status updates.
• Assist in creating engaging security awareness materials (videos, presentations, infographics, written communications, etc.) for a non-technical audience.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex security concepts into easily understandable content.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices to inform content development and team strategy.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Pursuing a 2025 Undergraduate/Master’s degree in Cyber or Information Security, Information Technology, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• 12-week commitment during Summer 2025 (specific start dates listed in the original text).
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles.
• Creative mindset with the ability to present information engagingly.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Passion for promoting security awareness and educating others.
• Experience working autonomously and leading across multiple teams and stakeholders across time zones.
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and thought leadership.
• Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduation in December 2025 or later, with the intent to return to studies after the internship.
• Graphic design and/or video editing skills.
• Experience with content creation tools (CapCut, TikTok, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, PowerPoint).
• Experience working for a global company.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Compensation: The hourly rate range is $30-$49, depending on location. Benefits include health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, 10 paid holidays per year, and paid sick time. (Specific details on sick time vary depending on hire date).
