Job Description: Security Advocacy and Culture Internship
The Security Advocacy and Culture team at TikTok champions security by:
• Enabling trust: Communicating an understanding of TikTok’s security practices.
• Empowering users: Internally and externally.
• Fostering transparency, trust, and collaboration: Building a resilient security posture for the global organization, business partners, and community.
• Educating employees: About cybersecurity risks, best practices, policies, and procedures.
This internship offers students hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths in cybersecurity. You’ll be able to utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth.
This 12-week internship program begins in May/June 2025. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following start dates:
• Monday, May 12
• Monday, May 19
• Tuesday, May 27 (Memorial Day May 26)
• Monday, June 9
• Monday, June 23
Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain project plans and roadmaps: Define delivery methodologies and drive project execution.
• Manage collaboration tools, content inventories, and reporting dashboards: Ensure accurate and timely status updates on project execution.
• Assist in creating engaging security awareness materials: TikTok videos, presentations, infographics, written communications, etc.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts: Translate complex security concepts into easily understandable content for a non-technical audience.
• Stay up-to-date with cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices: Help inform the development of relevant security awareness content and overall team processes strategy.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
• 2025 Undergraduate/Master degree in: Cyber or Information Security, Information Technology, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2025.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles.
• Creative mindset: Ability to present information in an engaging and easily digestible format.
• Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Passionate about promoting security awareness and educating others about cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience operating autonomously and leading across multiple teams: With stakeholders in different disciplines across time zones.
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and thought leadership.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to the degree program after the completion of the internship.
• Graphic design and/or video editing skills.
• Experience with content creation tools: CapCut, TikTok, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, PowerPoint, graphic design and video editing software.
• Experience working for a company with a global footprint.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
