Job Description: Paid School Paraprofessional Internship

Springtime School is seeking a School Paraprofessional Intern to work alongside Special Education Teachers and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in a nurturing learning environment. This role is the “heartbeat” of the classroom, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to connect with students and guide them through their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with autism in academic, behavioral, and leisure activities.
• Prepare classroom materials and stay informed on IEP adjustments.
• Work with instructors to create a seamless start to the school day.
• Help students navigate a balance between freedom and structure, encouraging flexibility and breaking rigid routines.
• Implement safe crisis management techniques if needed, including physical exertion.

Schedule:

• Monday/Wednesday/Friday, Tuesday/Thursday, or Monday – Friday
• 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
• Commitment of 6 months required (start date flexible)
• School operates year-round (Extended School Year)

• K-12+ (ages 6-21) with Autism

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Reliable transportation to Newtown, Bucks County
• Ability to commit to the specified schedule and duration
• Physical capability for sustained physical exertion and safe crisis management, including:
• Standing and kneeling movements
• Supporting a student’s body weight (lifting 15-50 lbs)
• Moving quickly, bending, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
