SAT Math Tutor | Varsity Tutors
The Tone:
This is a contract role at Varsity Tutors, located remotely. Varsity Tutors operates a Live Learning Platform, leveraging advanced technology, AI, and learning science to deliver personalized educational experiences. This role is crucial for transforming how people learn, directly impacting students’ SAT Math scores and overall test readiness, and helping them achieve their academic goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruction: Provide personalized, 1-on-1 online instruction to individual students.
• Strategy: Guide students in strategic problem-solving and test-taking approaches for SAT Math, including time management.
• Adaptation: Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet individual learning needs, styles, and weak areas.
• Scheduling: Set and manage your own flexible tutoring schedule, accepting instant or pre-scheduled requests.
• Support: Utilize AI-powered tools and platform features to enhance session effectiveness and reduce prep time.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum SAT Math score of 720 and deep knowledge of SAT Math topics including linear equations, systems, inequalities, algebraic expressions, quadratic functions, exponential growth, ratios and proportions, percentages, data interpretation, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, and complex numbers.
• Experience: Proven track record helping students significantly improve their math subscores on the SAT, along with familiarity with question distribution, common traps, and high-frequency topics.
• Skills: Ability to teach calculator-permitted versus no-calculator strategies, multiple solution pathways, estimation techniques, pattern recognition, and grid-in answer formatting, coupled with strong communication and an engaging teaching style.
