Description: Sales Solutions Architect

This role within Snowflake’s Professional Services team requires a balance between selling Snowflake Professional Services engagements and delivering on those engagements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-motivated individual who enjoys problem-solving in a fast-paced, agile environment. They must possess the ability to connect specific business problems to Snowflake’s solutions and effectively communicate this connection to technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities:

Sales & Solution Presentation: Present Snowflake’s technology and vision to executives and technical staff at customer organizations. Establish a position as a trusted advisor, focusing on achieving customer business outcomes.
Proposal & SOW Development: Collaborate with Professional Services Practice Directors and Managers to identify, develop, and refine proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) for both packaged services and custom Time and Materials projects.
Sales Collaboration: Work with Snowflake sales executives and account teams to develop opportunities and contribute to overall account strategy.
Building Trust and Confidence: Build trust in Snowflake Professional Services through on-site workshops, video conferences, technical support, and public-facing activities (e.g., LinkedIn, Medium).
Service Landscape Feedback: Gather insights from customer meetings to inform delivery teams about evolving service needs, identifying opportunities to create or improve packaged service offerings.
Project Leadership: Guide project teams to accelerate Snowflake solution adoption, demonstrating and communicating the value of Snowflake technology throughout engagements (demos, proof of concept, workshops, design sessions, implementation).
Process Creation & Documentation: Develop repeatable processes and documentation based on customer engagements, ensuring knowledge transfer for customer self-sufficiency.
Industry Solution Development: Create and collaborate on industry-specific solutions to increase Snowflake’s value for customers.
Competitive Analysis: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and how Snowflake positions itself against them.

Required Skills & Experience:

University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of experience as a solutions architect, data architect, database administrator, or data engineer.
Minimum 2 years of practical Snowflake experience, leading or participating in services engagements.
Minimum 2 years of practical experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Understanding of the complete data analytics stack (ETL to data platform design to BI and analytics tools).
• Hands-on technical experience (SQL, data warehousing, cloud data, analytics, or ML/AI).
• Extensive knowledge and experience with large-scale database technology (e.g., Snowflake, Netezza, Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum). Experience with data science/AI/ML use cases and workloads.
• Software development experience (Python, Java, Spark, and other scripting languages).
• Proficiency in implementing data security measures and access controls within the Snowflake platform.
• Internal and/or external consulting experience.
• Impeccable communication skills (written, visual, and oral).

Bonus Points:

• Big 5 Consulting experience.
• Experience selling or supporting the sales process of technical services at the enterprise level.
• Experience with non-relational platforms (e.g., Hadoop, HBase).
• Familiarity with BI and data exploration tools (e.g., Microstrategy, Looker, Tableau).
• OLAP data modeling and data architecture experience.
• Expertise in a specific vertical (Financial Services, Retail, Media & Entertainment, Healthcare, Life Sciences).
• Relevant certifications (cloud providers, cloud data technologies, cloud networking and security, data governance, ELT tools, BI/presentation layer tools).

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range is estimated at $180,000 – $257,200, plus bonus and equity. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
