Job Description: Sales Internship
This is a 10-week paid summer internship designed for individuals passionate about a career in sales, offering hands-on experience and the opportunity to build sales competencies while making a meaningful impact.
What You Will Do:
As a Sales Intern at Ferguson, you will gain comprehensive experience in various facets of the sales and supply chain process:
• Acquire practical experience in customer service, product knowledge, sales processes, customer relationship management (CRM), and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with experienced sales teams on real-world projects.
• Assist with shipping and receiving duties in the warehouse to understand the critical impact of supply chain and logistics on sales.
• Participate in dedicated leadership and sales training.
• Engage in diverse sales activities, including inside sales, outside sales, counter sales, and branch management, providing insight into daily branch operations.
• Attend leadership panels and networking events to connect with industry professionals.
• Present a final sales project to senior leaders, showcasing your learning and contributions.
• Participate in a one-week immersive experience at Ferguson’s headquarters in Newport News, VA, for networking and to deepen your understanding of the company’s culture and values.
What You Need (Qualifications):
To be considered for this internship, candidates should meet the following requirements:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field, and be a rising junior or senior.
• Ability to work 10 consecutive weeks during the summer, with an internship start date scheduled for June 1, 2026.
• Demonstrate qualities of being highly motivated, a self-starter, competitive, and customer-centric.
• Possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of working collaboratively with team members and customers.
• Be a real-world problem solver with a willingness to “roll up their sleeves and get the job done.”
• Show strong teamwork, adaptability, and time management skills.
• Able to navigate an ambiguous environment and demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficient in basic computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
