This is for a Sales Intern position at Student Sports.
The role is designed for a driven and resourceful individual with a strong interest in sports and brand innovation. The primary goal is to support the sales and marketing strategy by identifying growth opportunities, generating leads, and building a robust revenue pipeline for their football and baseball verticals (Elite 11 and Area Code Baseball). Key Responsibilities (“What You’ll Do”):
• Lead Generation & Research: Work directly with sales and marketing teams to identify and research new sales leads within the sports ecosystem, including brands, agencies, schools, and media partners.
• Pipeline Development: Focus heavily on generating and qualifying new leads to develop a strong pipeline, utilizing tools like CRM systems (Winmo/LinkedIn/Salesforce).
• Sales Material Support: Assist in the creation and delivery of custom sales materials and proposals tailored to meet specific client needs.
• Performance Tracking: Help track outreach activity and sales performance metrics to ensure consistent lead follow-up and maintain pipeline health.
• Participation in Sales Cycle: Participate in sales calls, internal strategy meetings, and post-campaign wrap-ups to gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire sales cycle.
• Market Monitoring: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and sponsorship innovations to inform and enhance outbound sales strategies.
• Strategic Contribution: Contribute ideas for branded-driven sales campaigns and revenue-generating sales packages designed to engage new and existing partners and drive ROI (Return on Investment).
Requirements:
• Education: Must be a college graduate or current college student.
• Mindset & Interest: Possess a competitive mindset and a genuine interest in a career in sports business, brand partnerships, or sales/marketing.
• Teamwork & Communication: Demonstrate effective teamwork traits for collaboration, strong research capabilities, and a clear understanding of the business to communicate effectively with team members and potential clients.
• Organizational Skills: Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing leads, delivering effective sales presentations, and providing precise breakdowns to drive revenue.
• Proactiveness: Exhibit a proactive mindset with the ability to work both independently and within a fast-paced team.
• Technical Proficiency: Be comfortable using Excel and Google Suite. Prior experience with CRM tools or database systems is a plus.
• Learning & Initiative: Show enthusiasm to learn and a willingness to take initiative, with an interest in exploring new ideas and strategies.
• Prior Experience (Bonus): Previous experience in sales, marketing, or brand partnership management (whether from classroom or extracurricular activities) is considered a bonus, but is not required.
• Location & Availability: Must be Los Angeles-based with weekend availability. The role requires the individual to work multiple days a week out of the Torrance, CA based office, though remote work is a potential option.
