Job Description: Sales Intern Program (SIP)

This is a 12-month paid internship designed to immerse participants in the life of a Commercial Real Estate Investment Sales professional. The program offers an hourly wage for up to 12 months, allowing interns to support a senior mentoring agent while learning the industry. The internship is intended as a stepping stone to Marcus & Millichap’s Sales Agent Training Program, ultimately leading to a career as an Investment Associate in the Encino office.

Responsibilities: Interns will assist senior agents with various tasks, including:

• Marketing
• Data aggregation
• Client proposal creation
• Pricing analysis
• Making introductory relationship calls

Requirements: Applicants must possess:

• A college degree
• A valid California real estate license
• Ambition and an entrepreneurial spirit
• Strong analytical and business development skills

Program Highlights:

The SIP provides mentorship from a successful senior broker. Participants will gain expertise in areas such as:

• Applying Marcus & Millichap’s value proposition throughout the brokerage process.
• Mastering Marcus & Millichap’s proprietary software and industry programs.
• Developing and expanding client databases and referral networks.
• Underwriting and analyzing commercial properties for effective marketing proposals.
• Communicating effectively with clients, attorneys, lenders, and other stakeholders.
• Building confidence in cold calling, networking, and relationship building.
• Enhancing negotiation, strategy, and transactional management skills.
• Creating a personal financial plan, budget, and goals.
• Understanding the benefits of financing with Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation.

Selection Process: The selection process is ongoing and competitive. It involves completing an application and interviewing with the Regional Manager and Mentoring Agent at a local Marcus & Millichap office. Ideal candidates are college graduates with strong sales skills, a real estate license, and a desire to become entrepreneurial, commission-based salespeople. The program offers an hourly wage plus the potential to earn additional income through contributions to successful deals.
