This is a 10-week paid summer internship at Ferguson, designed for individuals passionate about a career in sales. The internship aims to provide hands-on experience in customer service and build essential sales competencies, enabling interns to make a meaningful impact within the organization.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities):
• Gain direct experience in serving customers, learning product knowledge, understanding sales processes, mastering customer relationship management, and conducting performance analysis.
• Work collaboratively with experienced sales teams on real-world projects, contributing to active business operations.
• Assist with shipping and receiving duties in the warehouse to understand the critical impact of supply chain and logistics on sales.
• Participate in structured leadership and sales training programs.
• Engage in a variety of sales activities, including inside sales, outside sales, counter sales, and branch management, providing comprehensive insight into daily branch operations.
• Attend leadership panels and networking events to connect with professionals across the organization.
• Present a final sales project to senior leaders, showcasing acquired skills and insights.
• Participate in a one-week immersive experience at Ferguson’s headquarters in Newport News, VA, dedicated to networking and gaining a deeper understanding of the company’s culture and values.

What You Need (Qualifications):
Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field, and must be a rising junior or senior.
Availability: Ability to work for 10 consecutive weeks during the summer.
Attributes: Highly motivated, self-starter, competitive, customer-centric, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with both team members and customers.
Problem-Solving: A real-world problem solver with a willingness to be hands-on and “roll up their sleeves.”
Teamwork & Adaptability: Strong teamwork, adaptability, and time management skills.
Organization: Ability to navigate an ambiguous environment and demonstrates strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in basic computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
