Sales Development Intern – Job Description
This internship is a launching pad for a career in technology sales at Salesforce. You will be part of the Business Development Associate Program, where you’ll learn valuable skills and gain experience working alongside industry leaders.
What You’ll Learn & Do:
• Develop Your Sales Skills: This role is designed to help you build your sales skills and business acumen through formal training and hands-on experience.
• Salesforce Expertise: You’ll learn about Salesforce products, selling techniques, leadership, and business acumen. You’ll spend significant time using Salesforce business applications.
• Support Sales Development Team: You’ll assist Business Development Representatives (BDRs) and Account Executives (AEs) by identifying potential revenue opportunities. This includes researching prospective clients, adding data to accounts, and acquiring high-level contacts.
• Data Quality & Sales Development Proficiency: You’ll be involved in data quality initiatives and develop proficiency in sales development competencies, including selling skills, the Salesforce platform, and business processes.
• Salesforce Values & Business Acumen: You’ll gain a strong understanding of Salesforce values, business acumen, and professionalism.
• Develop SMB Sales Skills: You’ll learn how to promote Salesforce Essentials Solutions, a service specifically for small and medium businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prospect Research: Identify potential clients, research their businesses, and gather relevant information.
• Data Entry and Management: Add valuable data to new and existing accounts in Salesforce.
• Contact Acquisition: Use third-party databases and social networking to find high-level contacts within potential clients.
• Lead Generation: Assist the BDR team in generating leads.
• Salesforce Training: Complete assigned training modules and develop proficiency in using the Salesforce platform.
• Lead Processing: Process partner leads and ensure they are properly handled.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Fluency in Spanish OR Portuguese: The specific language requirement depends on your home country. Advanced English skills are also required.
• Limited or No Sales Experience: This is an entry-level position, so prior sales experience is not required.
• Team Player: Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Problem Solver: Demonstrate initiative and exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data entry and organization is critical.
• Organization & Planning: Strong organizational and planning skills are needed to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment and adapt to change.
• Long-Term Interest: Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in sales, marketing, or operations.
• Expected Graduation Date: December 2024 or July 2025.
