What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Engagement: Greet and promptly assist customers, actively approaching and acknowledging them immediately upon entry, and efficiently providing support while handling multiple customer interactions simultaneously.
• Product Expertise: Understand and effectively meet customer needs by proactively sharing detailed product knowledge, accurately answering questions, efficiently directing shoppers to specific merchandise, and confidently offering tailored recommendations.
• Sales Driving: Promote current store events and ongoing promotions by informing customers about special activities, leveraging suggestive selling techniques to enhance their overall shopping experience and consistently drive sales.
• Concern Resolution: Address and resolve customer issues and concerns with a professional demeanor, utilizing comprehensive product knowledge to offer suitable alternative solutions, and striving to convert returns into exchanges whenever feasible.
• Operational Communication: Regularly and accurately communicate essential needs to management, including requirements for merchandise restocking, specific service needs, and valuable customer feedback, ensuring timely and effective store operations.
• Team Collaboration: Support overall team and company goals by actively collaborating with colleagues, contributing to a positive and productive work environment that helps achieve collective store and corporate objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must be at least 16 years of age and possess the foundational capability to learn new procedures and information through practical on-the-job training provided by Five Below.
• Experience: An availability to work a flexible schedule, which includes day, evening, weekend, and potentially overnight shifts, is required to meet business needs. Familiarity with or a willingness to learn how to operate various retail technologies, such as cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile technology, is essential.
• Skills:
– Strong communication abilities, with the capacity to actively engage and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers both face-to-face and over the telephone.
– Professionalism and courtesy in handling all customer interactions, including potential issues or concerns, while gathering basic information to solve problems effectively.
– The ability to identify and interpret email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures is necessary.
