Sales and Leadership Trainee – Spring 2027 | Yancey Bros. Co.
The Tone:
This is a full-time training program designed to launch a career in sales and leadership at Yancey Bros. Co., one of Georgia’s oldest and most successful private companies. Since 1914, Yancey Bros. Co. has proudly served as the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for Georgia, providing sales, parts, and service for heavy and compact construction equipment, as well as on-highway trucks. This role is crucial for developing the next generation of high-performance leaders who will learn to build sales and operational capabilities, preparing them for successful future roles within the organization, and ensuring Yancey’s commitment to its customers across Georgia continues.
The TL;DR
• Role: Sales and Leadership Trainee
• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person, Austell, GA (for program meetings and training, with a home base assignment within Georgia)
• Mission: To develop high-performance leaders by providing comprehensive sales and operational training for future roles within Yancey Bros. Co.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Engage in a 12-week rotation-based program, utilizing a structured blend of in-person and computer-based training focused on sales and leadership fundamentals.
• Exposure: Participate in job shadowing, on-the-job learning, and rotational assignments to gain hands-on experience across multiple departments and business functions.
• Development: Attend interactive classroom sessions and engage in leadership development activities that strengthen skills and broaden understanding of the organization.
• Skill Building: Build specific job skills during a “home base assignment” while immersing in Yancey’s culture and core values from day one.
• Organizational Insight: Connect with team members at all levels of the company, gaining insight into their roles and responsibilities as you explore different areas of the business.
The Must-Haves
• Background: College degree or related equivalent experience. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Prior experience working or volunteering in sales, retail, management, or customer service roles, with demonstrated success in that prior work or volunteer experience.
• Skills: Possess good communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate sales, parts, and service solutions over telephone, in person, and through technology. Demonstrate a strong desire to learn, willingness to listen, a sense of urgency, high energy, and a strong work ethic. Be able to work both with a team and independently, and use judgment and creativity in applying solutions to business concerns.
• Bonus: A long-term interest in future sales and leadership opportunities with Yancey Bros. Co. is preferred.
