Responsibilities:
As a Safety Intern, you will play a crucial supporting role, working directly with the on-site safety manager and safety staff to actively promote and manage Walsh’s robust Safety Programs. This internship is structured for a minimum duration of 12 weeks, providing an immersive learning experience. You will gain insights into multiple career paths within our company and will be trained with the goal of transitioning into a full-time employee upon college graduation. Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Participate actively in field safety walks, observing and contributing to safety assessments.
- Assist the safety manager in conducting first-day safety orientations for all new employees, ensuring a strong foundation in safety protocols.
- Accurately complete accident and incident reports, contributing to a thorough understanding and prevention of workplace occurrences.
- Oversee and monitor the safety and health of personnel working on company jobsites, promoting a secure working environment.
- Support the safety manager in coordinating project safety programs with subcontractors, ensuring that company safety policies and procedures are clearly understood and effectively implemented across all teams.
Qualifications:
- Education: Seeking a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Availability: The ability to commit to a 12-week work schedule is preferred.
- Relocation: Specific roles may require relocation. Candidates willing to relocate are eligible for a living allowance.
