This job posting describes an opening for a Room Attendant. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure guest rooms are clean, well-stocked, and properly maintained to provide a comfortable and pleasant experience for hotel guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Stocking: The room attendant is responsible for stocking their supply cart with all necessary cleaning supplies at the beginning of their shift.
• Room Cleaning: This involves thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, including:
• Stripping and making beds with fresh linens
• Emptying trash receptacles
• Cleaning mirrors and glass surfaces
• Dusting furniture and fixtures
• Cleaning and sanitizing the bathroom (toilet, shower, sink, and floor)
• Replenishing Supplies: Restocking guest rooms and bathrooms with appropriate amenities, supplies (coffee, toiletries, etc.), and fresh linen and towels.
• Inspections: Inspecting rooms for any necessary repairs or malfunctioning fixtures.
• Reporting Maintenance: Reporting any repair or maintenance requests to the supervisor.
• Room Status Updates: Reporting the status of each completed room to the front desk.
• End-of-Shift Duties: Storing the cart and supplies, and emptying the trash after completing the assigned number of rooms.
• Other Duties: Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Demands:
The job requires the ability to:
• Stand: Stand for extended periods of time.
• Bend and Reach: Bend and reach with arms and hands frequently.
• Kneel: Kneel as needed for cleaning.
• Lift: Lift at least 25 pounds.
Education/Training/Experience:
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Qualifications:
• Reading Comprehension: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common documentation (e.g., safety guidelines, cleaning instructions).
• Communication Skills: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the staff.
• Written Communication: Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner.
