Job Description: Risk Solutions Intern
This opportunity is designed for aspiring young professionals seeking to learn, grow, and develop in a dynamic environment. TrueNorth is looking for a Risk Solutions Intern to join their Risk Solutions Team.
Program Details:
• Program Type: 11-week paid internship program.
• Duration: May – August 2026.
• Location: Fully on-site at TrueNorth’s Cedar Rapids, IA office.
• Focus Areas for Growth: Collaboration, project management, and problem-solving.
• Hands-on Experience: Interns will gain practical experience in safety, risk management, and claims handling, directly supporting client initiatives and contributing to meaningful risk-reduction strategies.
Key Responsibilities (As a Risk Solutions Intern, You Will):
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze claims data, and problem-solve to identify potential solutions for risk reduction.
• Reporting: Create comprehensive reports after client meetings.
• Resource Provision: Provide educational resources and materials to clients and the team.
• Onsite Visits: Conduct consultative visits onsite with the Risk Solutions team, gaining direct client interaction experience.
Education, Experience, & Skills (Required & Desired):
• Academic Status: Must be of Junior or Senior status, currently pursuing a degree or certificate in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field.
• Regulatory Knowledge (Plus): Proficiency in OSHA, EPA, DNR, or DOT regulations is a significant advantage.
• Prior Experience: Previous internship or job experience is required.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Adaptability: The ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Cognitive Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Industry Interest (Ideal): Ideal candidates will have a genuine interest in the insurance industry.
