Job Description: Risk Management Internship

This is a 12-week rotational internship within Cargill’s Risk Management department, offering exposure to both trading and sales aspects of the business. The internship is designed to provide practical experience and skill development.

Responsibilities:

Trading & Market Analysis: Monitor short-term trading strategies and positions for specific commodities, markets, or customers, differentiating between speculative and hedged activities.
Financial Reporting: Assist in reconciling profit and loss estimates and reports.
Market Intelligence: Monitor customer and competitor activity, as well as broader industry trends.
Sales Support: Contribute to sales strategy implementation, identifying potential customers, and nurturing existing relationships.
Problem Solving: Handle basic issues under supervision, escalating complex problems to senior staff.
Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (excluding student visas or third-party sponsored visas).
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, graduating between December 2025 and August 2026.
Availability for a 12-week summer internship (May/June – August 2025).
Strong analytical, prioritization, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and cultures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completed, enrolled in, or planning to complete introductory college-level economics (micro or macro).
Knowledge of commodity markets and the ability to interpret macro/microeconomic events on local supply/demand.

Location & Work Environment: Wayzata, MN. The role is primarily office-based, but offers flexibility for hybrid work arrangements. The successful candidate must be willing to work in either an office or plant setting.
