Job Description: Risk Management Internship

This is a 12-week rotational internship within Cargill’s Risk Management department, offering exposure to both trading and sales aspects of the business. The internship is designed to provide practical experience and skill development, preparing interns for their future careers.

Responsibilities:

Trading & Market Analysis: Help monitor short-term trading strategies and positions for specific commodities, markets, or customers, differentiating between speculative and hedged positions.
Financial Reporting: Assist in reconciling profit and loss estimates and reports.
Market Intelligence: Monitor customer and competitor activities and industry trends.
Sales Support: Help implement sales strategies, identify potential customers, and cultivate existing customer relationships.
Problem Solving: Handle basic issues under supervision, escalating complex problems to appropriate staff.
Other Duties: As assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion or enrollment in a micro or macro introductory college-level economics course.
• Knowledge of commodity markets and their relation to supply and demand.

Internship Program Details:

Duration: 12 weeks (typically May/June – August 2025).
Compensation: hourly pay ($21.90-$30.30, dependent on graduation date and full-time employment eligibility).

Location: Wayzata, MN (office or plant setting; hybrid work arrangement possible). Relocation may be required.

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. work authorization (not solely based on a student visa or third-party employer sponsorship).
• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, graduating between December 2025 and August 2026.
• Geographic flexibility and willingness to relocate to Wayzata, MN (if applicable).
• Ability to complete a 12-week summer internship.
• Strong analytical, prioritization, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
