Risk Management Internship Job Description:
This 10-week summer internship (June 2, 2025 – approximately August 10, 2025), requiring 32+ hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm), will be hybrid, with 1-2 in-person days per week at the Linthicum, MD headquarters (including new hire orientation and intern events). The intern will support the Risk Management department in several key areas:
• Risk Assessment Enhancement: Assisting in the migration of BSA risk assessment from Apogee to Nrisk. Supporting ERM and Governance in Phase II of enhancing information security risk assessment.
• Risk and Control Library Development: Converting risks and controls into data points within a new risk and control library in Nrisk. Assigning these risks and controls to areas outlined in the Nrisk risk assessment. Reviewing existing risks and controls in Excel and building the new library. Connecting newly tagged risks and controls to products, assets, and processes within the risk assessment.
• Other tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, research abilities (using the internet to identify information security risks), and the ability to absorb information from publications (like NIST 800-53). Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential, as is proficiency with the MS Office Suite. The position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. A positive attitude and eagerness to learn are key attributes.
