Job Description
This posting is for a Risk & Data Operational Risk Intern position as part of CIBC’s Summer Internship Program.
Program Overview:
The internship is a dynamic, 10-week experience typically running from June through August. It is specifically designed to complement academic training and support career aspirations, centered around the core theme of Learn, Connect, Grow.
Work Arrangement:

As a Risk & Data Operational Risk Intern, You Will:
• Learn: Gain valuable hands-on experience by supporting the “Govern” team through impactful assignments. This will deepen your understanding of risk operations, data management, and analytics.
• Connect: Expand your professional network by engaging with a wide range of individuals across CIBC, including employees, fellow interns, and executive leadership.
• Grow: Benefit from structured mentorship and leadership guidance. You will also participate in community outreach initiatives, all while developing crucial technical and interpersonal skills essential for your future career.
Who You Are (Qualifications):
• Academic Standing: Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fields such as data science, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Graduation Timeline: Expected to graduate between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office systems, including Excel and Power BI.
• Soft Skills: Possess exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Compensation and Benefits:
• Hourly Rate: This role offers an expected hourly rate of $25.00 per hour for the State of Illinois market. The final rate may vary based on experience, qualifications, and the specific location of the position.
