This is an internship or entry-level role focused on Risk Advisory, suitable for a student pursuing an Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or closely related degree. The position involves a variety of tasks centered around auditing, compliance, and risk management within client operations.
Responsibilities include:
• Performing and documenting test results and walkthroughs: This involves analyzing operational processes and controls, specifically those related to change management, risk assessment, vendor risk management, business continuity, privacy, and governance. The output includes documented test results and descriptions of process walkthroughs.
• Evaluating evidence: You will assess gathered evidence to determine if controls are effectively designed and operating to meet requirements for compliance frameworks such as SOC 1, SOC 2, and/or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
• Assisting with data-related assignments: This includes tasks like data mining, conducting security assessments, and creating process flowcharts.
• Obtaining and analyzing data: You will gather and scrutinize data to evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of various systems and processes within an organization.
• Conducting various assessments and testing: This involves performing transaction testing, readiness assessments, and evaluating the design of internal controls to mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks. You will also test the operating effectiveness of these controls.
• Assisting with compliance evaluations: You will help assess processes and controls against existing or proposed laws and regulations, as well as established internal policies, plans, and procedures.
• Proactive communication: Maintaining ongoing and proactive communication with the Risk Advisory Team regarding all aspects of engagements is crucial.
• Brand Ambassadorship: Representing Citrin Cooperman positively in all internal and external interactions.
Qualifications required:
• A minimum 3.0 GPA is required both at the time of application and at the start of the internship program.
• You must be a current student with an anticipated graduation date in December 2026 or May 2027.
• You should be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills are necessary for effective team collaboration and client interaction.
• A willingness and ability to travel regionally to client sites if required.
