Job Description:
Lockheed Martin is seeking a skilled RF Systems Engineer to join their team in Orlando, Florida. This role supports the JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile) program and requires expertise in RF design, analysis, and testing.
Responsibilities:
• Generate modeling/simulations for advanced control systems.
• Build and test prototype hardware in the lab.
• Collaborate with a larger team for flight hardware configurations.
• Assist engineers with antenna modeling, RF System modeling, and requirements development.
• Identify key RF hardware requirements that meet mission needs.
• Construct models for simulation.
• Utilize a wide range of test equipment including power supplies, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, RF Power Meters, Frequency Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, and Network Analyzers.
• Demonstrate proficiency in MATLAB modeling.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university.
• US Citizenship.
• Strong fundamental understanding of RF couplers and filter designs.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with flowing down RF requirements to testable modular hardware and software.
• Mastery of simulation and analysis tools, particularly MATLAB.
• Ability to support trade studies, presentations, proposals, and related activities.
• In-depth understanding of Smith charts, S-parameters, dynamic range, FRIIS transmission equation, and impedance matching.
• Ability to calculate system noise temperature of a cascaded network.
• Knowledge of antenna design, polar plots, and phased arrays.
• Understanding of conical vs great circle cuts.
• Ability to calculate polarization losses.
• Experience with performing System Link Budgets for Telemetry, Flight Termination, Data Links, Range Tracking, GPS, SATCOM, etc.
• Proficiency in Radar Analysis (Altitude, Search & Track, and SAR) including terrain and atmospheric absorption, function of time, and environmental effects.
• Experience with developing Radar and/or Communication algorithms.
Security Clearance:
• This position requires a government security clearance. Candidates must be US Citizens for consideration.
• Clearance Level: Secret
Work Schedule:
• 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
