About Disney Cruise Line Revenue Management Internship:
Disney Cruise Line offers an exciting internship opportunity within its Revenue Management team. This shoreside role supports the operations of the company’s five-ship fleet and contributes to strategic growth.
The Revenue Management team is responsible for crucial aspects of the cruise line’s success, including:
• Fleet-wide pricing: Determining optimal pricing strategies for various cruise itineraries and offerings.
• Revenue planning and forecasting: Analyzing market trends and passenger demand to project revenue streams and set financial targets.
• Inventory control: Managing the availability of cabins and maximizing occupancy levels across the fleet.
Interns will gain valuable experience in analytics, business strategy, and revenue optimization. They will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to achieving Disney Cruise Line’s revenue goals.
What You Will Do:
As an intern, you will be involved in a variety of projects and responsibilities, including:
• Researching incremental revenue opportunities: Identifying new ways to increase revenue through analysis of market data and guest preferences.
• Presenting insightful recommendations: Communicating findings and recommendations to the Revenue Management team and leadership.
• Analyzing historical pricing and booking data: Identifying trends and patterns in past performance to inform future decisions.
• Completing ad hoc projects and data analysis: Supporting the team with various analytical tasks to achieve short-term and long-term goals.
• Researching and reporting on industry news and pricing: Staying up-to-date on competitive landscape and industry trends.
• Supporting Analysts with inventory management in Disney Cruise Line’s reservation system: Learning and contributing to the management of cabin availability and allocation.
• Monitoring reports and partnering with Guest Services Cast Members: Ensuring adherence to cancellation policies and other operational guidelines.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
To be successful in this internship, you should possess the following skills and experience:
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint: Demonstrated ability to use these tools for data analysis and presentation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills: Ability to clearly articulate findings and recommendations, both verbally and in writing.
• Curiosity about data analysis: Interest in using data to answer questions and make informed decisions.
• Desire to develop skills in various data tools: Willingness to learn and use tools such as SQL, Tableau, and Python.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented: Ability to work independently and meticulously, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes: Adaptability to new technologies and work environments.
• Demonstrated creativity in solving complex data analysis problems: Ability to think critically and come up with innovative solutions.
• Desire to learn more about the Disney Cruise Line product and the travel industry: Enthusiasm for the cruise industry and its dynamics.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications may enhance your candidacy:
• Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, and/or Python: Existing experience with these data analysis tools.
• Experience working with large data sets: Prior experience handling and analyzing large volumes of information.
• General knowledge or previous experience in the Cruise, Airline or Travel & Tourism industry: Understanding of the travel industry and its specific challenges and opportunities.
• Disney College Program or Professional Internship Alumni: Prior experience within the Disney company.
Education Requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program: Must be currently pursuing a degree.
• Must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting: Recent graduates within a specified time frame are eligible.
• Currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship: Students currently involved in other Disney programs are also welcome to apply.
• Junior or higher working towards (or recently graduated with) a degree in Finance, Statistics, Math, Economics, Accounting, Industrial Engineering or other related field: Relevant academic background in quantitative fields is preferred.
Eligibility Requirements and Program Information:
To be considered for this internship, candidates MUST meet the following requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age: Minimum age requirement for participation.
• Possess unrestricted work authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program: Limited to those who haven’t held a previous Disney internship for a full year.
Additional Information:
• Approximate internship dates: January through June 2025.
• Full-time commitment: Must be available Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, working 40 hours per week.
• Housing and transportation: Applicants are responsible for their own housing and transportation in the Orlando, FL area.
