Job Description:
The position is for a support role assisting in the care of residents. The essential functions include regular attendance, physical stamina (standing, lifting up to 50+ pounds), independent work with good judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
Responsibilities involve a range of tasks, including:
• Following Brookhaven’s policies and procedures and meeting job-related competencies.
• Passing items like ice, water, linens, and supplies.
• Making beds and assisting with meal service (serving, setting/clearing tables, washing dishes).
• Helping with snacks and transporting residents to activities.
• Conducting one-on-one activities with residents
• Assisting with cleaning duties (emptying bins, cleaning wheelchairs, housekeeping).
• Performing other non-resident care duties as assigned.
The required knowledge, skills, and abilities include basic literacy and math skills, the ability to follow instructions, and preferably a high school diploma (grammar school education is essential).
