Job Description: Retail Management Internship

This is an 11-week Retail Management Internship program designed to provide hands-on experience in managing high-volume, fast-paced travel centers, encompassing food service and truck care operations. Interns will work closely with seasoned leaders to develop a comprehensive understanding of various facets of the business. The program aims to prepare interns for a rewarding career with Love’s.

Key Responsibilities (Job Functions):

• Participate in hands-on training across store, fuel, food, and truck care operations.
• Develop business acumen by learning strategies to drive sales, manage costs, and support overall profitability.
• Acquire knowledge and skills in team leadership, staffing, and employee development practices.
• Gain practical experience in delivering exceptional customer service and effectively resolving customer issues.
• Assist with various operational tasks including merchandising, inventory management, and ensuring adherence to operational standards.
• Understand and help enforce safety protocols, compliance regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate on a cross-functional project with other interns and leaders from various departments.

Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year program.
• Pursuing a degree in business, management, hospitality, or a related field.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Be aware that additional screening may include a motor vehicle check and/or a DOT Physical.

Skills and Demands:

Confident interaction with customers and team members, demonstrating potential for leadership roles.
Willingness to learn by doing within a dynamic, customer-focused, and fast-paced environment.
• Capability to navigate various computer programs, systems, and technology tools essential for daily operations.
• Physical demands include the ability to talk, hear, move around, lift up to 50 pounds, and see clearly to perform job duties effectively.
