Job Description:
As a Retail Cashier Floater, you will be responsible for providing coverage and assistance to various store locations within the following geographic district:
• Kirkland
• Bellevue
• Mercer Island
• Issaquah
• Renton
• Sammamish
The work location will vary daily, and you will be assigned to stores to fill vacancies due to absences, vacations, or open positions. This role requires reliable transportation as you will be traveling between stores.
Key Responsibilities:
• Customer Service: Greet customers with a smile, provide fast and friendly service, and offer accurate product information. Thank customers for their business and invite them to return.
• Sales and Transactions: Ring up sales and merchandise, apply discounts and promotions, and follow all laws and policies regarding restricted sales of tobacco and alcohol.
• Cash Handling: Prepare accurate cashier checkout reports according to policy.
• Store Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store.
• Stocking and Organization: Properly label, rotate, and stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Safety and Security: Be safety/security conscious and adhere to safety guidelines. Report any accidents or incidents to the Store Manager immediately.
• Policy Compliance: Be knowledgeable of and follow company policy and procedures.
• Fuel Service (Where Applicable): Fuel customers’ cars, check engine fluids, and wash customer windows as needed (required in Oregon and as needed in other areas for handicapped customers).
• Food Handling: Ensure proper sanitation and food handling/prep/storage/disposal procedures are followed.
• Reconciliation (Book Floaters Only): Reconcile daily paperwork when covering shifts and completing daily deposits.
• Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Must be 21 or older for this location.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including rotating shifts, nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Legal age to sell restricted products, including alcohol and tobacco.
• Willingness and passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude.
• Previous retail or cashier experience preferred.
• Ability to lead by example and do the right thing.
• Strong sense of teamwork.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and listen.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
• Ability to work safely in various conditions, including heat, cold, allergens, noise, and fumes/chemicals/odors.
