Job Description:
This is a paid internship opportunity for students entering their second year of a Respiratory Therapy education program in the fall semester. The internship is located ON-SITE at the FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility in Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities:
• Perform basic respiratory care duties as directed by medical staff.
• Adhere to hospital objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Work under the supervision of a preceptor, assigned before each rotation.
• Other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
• Successful completion of all first-year clinical rotations for the respiratory therapy program.
• Must be and remain in good standing within the respiratory therapy program.
• Clinical experience in a hospital, home care, or skilled nursing facility is preferred.
• Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care/state Society for Respiratory Care is preferred.
Education Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in an entry-level or advanced-level accredited Respiratory Therapy Education program is required.
• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
