Job Description:

This is a paid internship opportunity for students beginning their Respiratory Therapy education program in the fall semester. The internship offers flexible scheduling to accommodate your education.

Location: Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI (On-site)

Shift: Shift 4

Summary:

The Respiratory Therapy Intern will perform basic duties to support the Respiratory Care Staff in accordance with the hospital’s objectives, policies and procedures. A mentor will be identified for resource and support. Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• Preferred: Experience working in a patient care setting (hospital, nursing home)
• Preferred: Inventory/stocking experience

Education:

Required: Current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program and remain in good standing.
• Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent

Training:

• Equipment processing and cleaning training will be provided.

Special Skills:

• Organization/Time management
• Good communication skills

Licensure:

Required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
