Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
Role Overview:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing care to a diverse patient population within PAM Health hospitals. The ideal candidate will possess prior inpatient hospital experience or demonstrate a strong desire and commitment to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
• Performs routine therapy, diagnostic, and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures for patients.
• Ensures all respiratory equipment is maintained in working order.
• Provides phlebotomy services and performs basic laboratory testing for patients as required or requested.
• Carries out other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Education and Training:
• Must hold current certification or licensure to practice respiratory care in the state where the hospital is located.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Blood gas licensure is required if employed in the state of Nevada.
• For hospitals that perform arterial punctures and/or run blood gases, at least a high school diploma is required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Experience:
• A minimum of one-year clinical respiratory experience is preferred.
• Prior inpatient hospital experience is preferred, or a strong commitment to learning for those with less direct experience.
