The Tone:

The Research Specialist is integral to providing cost-effective legal and non-legal research and reference materials to attorneys, paralegals, administrative staff, and clients. What You’ll Actually Do
• SEC Research: Provide detailed research on SEC filings, including retrieving current and archived documents, researching precedents, language, and various types of agreements.
• Corporate Research: Investigate background information on companies, individuals, and transactions, addressing corporate governance issues and deal data.
• Litigation Research: Conduct in-depth research on complex fact patterns, finding and retrieving dockets, pleadings, and cases to support litigation efforts.
• Non-Legal Research: Perform legislative, regulatory, financial, statistical, and other non-legal research for various firm needs.
• Resource Evaluation: Assist with evaluating new and updated versions of information resources, including online and print sources, and recommend beneficial options for the firm.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Required Master’s Degree in Library Science, with a focus on delivering cost-effective legal and non-legal research and reference materials.
• Experience: Minimum three years performing research in a large law firm or financial firm.
• Skills: Proficiency with internet research and specific databases such as Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, and Pacer; excellent computer skills including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: J.D. a plus.
