Job Description:
This is a challenging graduation assignment for an Organic Chemistry student interested in sustainable materials development. You will be tasked with:
1. Synthesizing Functional Polymers:
• Synthesize a range of functional polymers with varying molecular weights and different monomers.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the synthesis using analytical techniques like NMR and IR spectroscopy.
2. Investigating Photopolymerization:
• Utilize the functionality in the synthesized polymers for crosslinking via photopolymerization.
• Correlate the properties of the functional polymers with the properties of the crosslinked material.
This assignment aims to develop new, eco-friendly UVgel inks for inkjet printing applications. The goal is to expand the application range of Canon’s products, from high-quality graphics to sustainable packaging solutions.
Key Requirements:
• Research background in chemical synthesis, preferably polymer synthesis
• Experience with materials characterization techniques like DSC or IR spectroscopy
• Result-driven and self-motivated team player
• Availability for 5-9 months, working a minimum of 4 days per week
