Job Description
NVIDIA is seeking a talented Research Intern to join their Generalist Embodied Agent Research (GEAR) group. The GEAR team focuses on building general-purpose embodied agents capable of learning complex skills in both virtual and physical environments. The intern will be responsible for:
• Designing and implementing novel AI algorithms and models for humanoid robots and embodied agents.
• Developing large-scale AI training and inference methods for foundation models.
• Optimizing and deploying AI models in physical simulations and on robot hardware.
• Collaborating with research and engineering teams across NVIDIA to translate research into products and services.
Requirements:
• Pursuing a PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong engineering skills in rapid prototyping and model training frameworks (PyTorch, Jax, TensorFlow). Python is mandatory, while C++ and CUDA skills are a plus.
• Experience working with large-scale machine learning/AI systems and compute infrastructure.
• Expertise in at least one of the following areas:
• Multimodal Foundation Models: Hands-on experience and publications in LLMs, vision-language models, video generative models, diffusion models, and action-based transformers.
• Robotics: Hands-on experience and publications in robot learning, including reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and classical control methods.
• Deep understanding of robot kinematics, dynamics, and sensors.
• Ability to safely operate robot hardware, lab equipment, and tools.
• Knowledge of control methods like PID, MPC, and whole body control.
• Familiarity with physics simulation frameworks such as Mujoco and Isaac suite.
