About The Role: Research, Insights, and Analytics Intern

The Disney Entertainment Research, Insights, and Analytics team is seeking a highly motivated and data-driven individual to join their dynamic team as an intern. This role is ideal for a television enthusiast with a keen interest in leveraging data to craft compelling narratives and support strategic decision-making within the entertainment industry.

As part of this team, you will contribute valuable insights derived from data and analytics, directly supporting executives in their critical decision processes. A defining feature of this internship is the opportunity for hands-on engagement with real-world data, allowing you to relay crucial information across various departments within Disney Entertainment and the broader Walt Disney Company.

This is a full-time, six-month commitment, based in Burbank, CA, scheduled from June 2026 to January 2027.

What You Will Do:

You will be an integral part of a dedicated team committed to providing comprehensive guidance, necessary access to software/tools, and invaluable experience essential for a future career in data and analytics within the television industry. Your responsibilities and learning opportunities will include:

  • Gain hands-on experience reporting on key trends in the television industry and program viewership.
  • Learn and apply industry-standard software such as Nielsen and other business intelligence tools to report on program performance.
  • Significantly expand your technical skills with tools like Excel, Looker, Alteryx, Tableau, and more.
  • Engage in discussions about the evolving television landscape with experienced industry professionals.
  • Work with U.S. and Global Streaming data to contextualize and analyze streaming performance.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of ratings reports, in-depth analyses, and impactful presentations.
  • Utilize internal and external analytics tools, SQL, and various scripting languages to access and analyze multivariate data.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of analytical prowess, technical proficiency, and a genuine passion for the entertainment industry:

  • A profound passion for all forms of television content.
  • Proficiency with Excel, including advanced functionalities such as lookups, arrays, and complex logic formulas.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and Outlook for creating presentations and managing communications.
  • Experience or foundational knowledge of SQL and cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Outstanding communication skills: demonstrating excellence in written, oral, presentation, and storytelling abilities.
  • A strong sense of curiosity and passion for solving problems and addressing challenging questions.
  • The ability to be flexible, adapt to changing priorities, and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exemplary organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not strictly required, these qualifications will be a significant advantage:

  • Experience with Looker, Tableau, Alteryx, or other Business Intelligence (BI) technologies.
  • Presentation graphics ability, including familiarity with tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with large files/datasets.

Education:

  • Currently in your Junior or Senior year preferred.
  • Major or previous coursework in Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related major is preferred.

Optional Materials:

Candidates may choose to submit a writing sample that highlights an analytical project they completed as part of their application. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your analytical and communication skills.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.

Additional Information:

  • This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in Burbank, CA from June 2026-January 2027.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
  • Fully available Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Burbank, CA area.
  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work in the Burbank, CA area.

The pay rate for this role in California is $22.50 per hour.
