2025 L’Oréal USA Summer Internship Program – Research & Innovation – Undergraduate
This paid, 11-week internship offers a chance to become fully immersed in the day-to-day activities of a team at L’Oréal, the world’s #1 beauty company. You’ll gain valuable industry experience by:
• Disrupting conventional wisdom: Be part of a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that challenges traditional thinking about how consumers purchase beauty products.
• Working in a lab environment: Gain practical experience in a laboratory setting and contribute to product development, performance, and innovation.
• Developing innovative solutions: Work with cross-functional teams, labs, and international colleagues to find creative and resourceful solutions to challenges in product development.
• Leading your own project: Take full ownership of a strategically impactful individual project that you will present to senior management at the end of the internship.
This internship offers the opportunity to be considered for a full-time return offer into L’Oréal’s Management Trainee Program upon graduation.
Minimum Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation between December 2025 – July 2026 in one of the following fields:
• Chemistry (Physical, Polymer, or Organic)
• Engineering (Chemical or Biomedical preferred)
• Biological Sciences
• Material Science
• Able to start working fulltime starting September 2026 upon graduation with your bachelor’s degree.
• Legally authorized to work in the US on a fulltime, permanent, and ongoing basis without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
• Willing to relocate to the Research & Innovation offices in Clark, NJ for the internship program.
Stand Out Currently pursuings:
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a total GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Available to work the entirety of the 11-week summer internship program in 2025.
• Showcased ability to work in a professional, dynamic environment through previous internship or relevant work experience (part-time work, work study, side-gigs, freelancing, volunteering, summer work, or internships).
• Demonstrated leadership ability and interest in Research through your academics, extra-curricular activities, or professional/volunteer work.
• Established self-awareness, in terms of understanding your own culture, identity, biases, prejudices, power, privilege and stereotypes.
Skills Key to Success in Research & Innovation:
• Experience working in a laboratory environment (internships, university coursework, extra-curricular activities, part-time work).
• Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience in order to present key research findings.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, display a sense of urgency and initiative, while balancing creativity and flexibility.
Program Details:
• This is a paid internship opportunity located in Clark, New Jersey.
• Housing assistance is provided on an individual basis based on eligibility per L’Oréal’s Relocation Policy.
• The hourly rate range is:
• Non-engineering students: $24.00 – $28.50
• Engineering students: $24.50 – $31.00
• Actual compensation will depend on various factors including geographic location and education/degree earned.
• You’ll be placed on an R&I team within one of the following departments:
• Application Domain (Applied Science)
• Development (Formulation Science)
• Advanced Research
• Evaluation
• Augmented Beauty
• And more!
• Each intern will be paired with a mentor and buddy for guidance and support throughout the internship.
