Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking undergraduate interns to work on impactful projects with significant strategic and/or operating importance to the business.

Summer Internship Responsibilities:

Partner with leadership: Identify and address areas to improve efficiency and benchmark with industry best practices.
Become a process owner: Critically review specific processes with a keen eye for detail, proactively recommending opportunities for improvement.
Learn continuous improvement methodologies: Gain experience with PPI, Six Sigma, and other methodologies and help promote improvement initiatives.
Maintain compliance: Ensure adherence to company safety, training, and quality regulations (e.g., ISO compliance, GLP/GMP requirements).
Execute experimental plans: Analyze data and contribute to technical reports and product summaries.
Investigate new methods/technologies: Maintain accurate lab notebooks to protect intellectual property in accordance with Thermo Fisher standards.
Collaborate: Work cross-functionally with teams including Business Development, Quality, Operations, Technical Services, and Marketing to commercialize new products.

Internship Details:

Start Dates: May 12th or June 16th, 2025
Duration: 10-12 weeks (dependent on student availability)
Compensation: hourly rate between $21.50 – $28.75 (dependent on location and cost of living)
Relocation Stipend: $5,000 if necessary (student must be located 50+ miles away from the internship location)

Qualifications:

Undergraduate student: Completing an Engineering or Life Sciences-related degree between December 2025 and June 2026.
Experience: 0 years of work experience required; previous related internships preferred.
Skills: Consistent track record demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity. Ability to champion change, drive results, and navigate ambiguity. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence.
