Job Summary:
The Research Assistant Intern will play a pivotal role in supporting multi-disciplinary teams and a dedicated Research Scientist at Vivex Biologics, Inc. This position is integral to the early-stage development activities and ongoing product development initiatives, providing hands-on experience in a fast-paced biotechnology environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Actively assist with various early-stage research and product development projects, contributing to the lifecycle of novel biological products.
  • Research Execution: Aid in conducting and executing research on both existing and newly developed products, which may involve experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
  • Experimental Design & Execution: Under direct supervision, contribute to the development of robust experimental designs (DOE) and meticulously execute experiments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive protocols, detailed research reports, and professional presentations to effectively communicate findings and project progress to the team.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising Research Scientist or management, contributing to the overall success of research initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently enrolled in, or holding, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or a closely related life sciences or health-science discipline. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
  • Scientific Acumen: Possess a strong foundational knowledge of biochemistry and general biology, complemented by a solid understanding of human anatomy and chemistry directly relevant to laboratory research and product development.
  • Laboratory Expertise: Demonstrated strong hands-on laboratory skills with extensive practical experience gained within biochemistry-focused laboratory environments.
  • Wet-Lab Proficiency: Proven proficiency in core wet-lab techniques, including, but not limited to, precise pipetting, accurate sample preparation, safe reagent handling, and the skillful execution of various biochemical assays (e.g., protein quantification, enzymatic assays, ELISA, or similar analytical assays).
  • Data Management & Analysis: Ability to accurately collect, meticulously analyze, and effectively interpret experimental data, while maintaining strong attention to detail and strict adherence to established laboratory protocols.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in technical writing, clear data reporting, and thorough documentation of experimental results.
  • Analytical & Organizational Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities, coupled with excellent organizational skills to support experimental planning and seamless execution.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project is highly preferred.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Vivex Biologics, Inc. will not provide sponsorship or employment for candidates who require the 24-month STEM Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension. Please note this is not an offer of immigration sponsorship.

Working Conditions:
This role may require work inside a controlled cleanroom manufacturing area. The intern may be exposed to tissue processing within this specialized environment, necessitating adherence to strict safety and cleanliness protocols.

Physical Requirements:
The position may occasionally require standing for extended periods of time and the ability to lift heavy objects, up to 30 lbs.
