Job Description:
Position Description: Research Assistant
Purpose: Assist in routine administrative and data collection aspects of clinical research studies needed in accordance with specific instructions and established work methods. Support research investigators as needed.
Primary Functions:
• Support data acquisition in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
• Manage neural (EEG + LFP + single neuron), video, audio, and behavioral task data.
• Debug and improve existing MATLAB/Psychtoolbox task and analysis codes.
• Troubleshoot EMU hardware and data acquisition.
• Collaborate with team members regarding requirements, schedules, and activities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:
• Knowledge of engineering/computer science/data analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and attentiveness to detail required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of computers, clerical procedures, customer service standards, and information management.
Minimum Required Education: High school or equivalent.
Minimum Required Experience: No experience required.
