What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare initial financial reports for the post-award accounting of grants and contracts.
• Partnering & Information Gathering: Partner closely with university departments to interpret procedures and gather necessary financial information.
• Report Validation & Submission: Validate gathered financial information and prepare and submit accurate reports to federal and other sponsoring agencies by required deadlines.
• Project Inactivation: Inactivate sponsored projects to maintain a positive cash position and prevent any additional transactions from posting.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure all reporting and financial activities comply with specific sponsor guidelines and requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, including completion of 8 accounting courses.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Google suites, and communication applications such as Zoom.
• Skills: Accounting principles, financial report preparation, data validation, adherence to compliance guidelines.
