Job Description: Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) Engineer

This entry-level role offers a unique opportunity to kickstart your career with Lockheed Martin’s Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) business. You will be part of a team responsible for the RMA aspects of products and systems developed within RMS.

Key Responsibilities:

RMA Analysis & Design:
• Identify RMA shortfalls in system-level analysis/design.
• Perform Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) predictions and allocations.
• Develop system, element, and equipment R&M specifications.
• Analyze statistical data from failure reporting programs.
• Identify and analyze RMA problems, conducting physics of failure analysis.
• Evaluate proposed corrective actions.
• Support development of high availability architectures.
FRACAS & Testing:
• Participate in Failure Reporting and Corrective Action activities (FRACAS).
• Conduct R&M testing and statistical evaluation of test data.
• Review equipment failure data and assess corrective action.
• Execute Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analyses (FMECA and Fault Tree Analyses).
Collaboration & Communication:
• Actively engage with system design engineers.
• Participate in design reviews, presentations, and meetings.
• Interface with program offices, customers, and other contractors.
• Prepare formal reports and presentations.
• Lead complete job tasks.
• Discuss R&M improvements with design engineers.
Logistics & Modeling:
• Support sparing and logistics analysis.
• Develop RMA system models.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or industrial engineering; math; physics; computer science; or equivalent degree.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance (US Citizen required).
Desired:
• Prior coursework or relevant experience in reliability/maintainability/availability analysis.
• Aviation maintenance or operations experience (military or civil) a plus.
• Data analysis, analytics, reporting; experience with Tableau, MiniTab (or similar) a plus.

Location: This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Work Schedule: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week.

Remote Work: Part-time remote telework is available.
